We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of a true basketball legend as our new Head Coach, John Tyson. With an incredible journey from the courts of the Harlem Globetrotters to the Raptors and Magic, he brings a wealth of experience to our team.
Coach Tyson isn’t just a player with a remarkable career – he’s also a decorated champion. He secured two Championships during his time in the ABA, and his skills as a shot-block leader and a CBA All-Star speak volumes about his prowess on the court.
Transitioning to coaching, John Tyson began under the mentorship of none other than Coach Steve Tucker, the mastermind behind the 2022 TBL champions, the Shreveport Mavericks. His journey continued as he contributed his knowledge and passion to the FUEL in the ABA.
In a pivotal move, Tyson joined the 2021 TBL Champions, the Enid Outlaws, in 2022, initially as an assistant coach. However, his talent and leadership were undeniable, and he took over as the Head Coach for the Oklahoma Panthers mid-season in 2023.
We’re excited to have such a distinguished figure leading our team, and we can’t wait to see the amazing contributions Coach Tyson will make to our organization. Welcome aboard, Coach!
